Police burst into the Up In Smoke Cafe yesterday and arrested numerous people in connection with a marijuana rally Thursday.

Police had four people in custody last night on charges of trafficking after they raided the marijuana and paraphernalia shop on King Street East around 5 p.m. Several others were arrested and released with future court dates. Police say the charges were connected with incidents at the marijuana rally in the downtown core. Pro-marijuana protestors said people did hand out joints but police did nothing about it.

Instead, they said, police opted to burst into the shop with guns drawn.
