DRUG TRAFFICKING ARRESTS

On Wednesday July 9, 2003 officers from 32 Division Community Response Unit and Street Crime Unit executed a Search Warrant at a residence on Purebrook Crt. in North York and arrested three persons on charges of Trafficking in Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Counterfeit money, and Proceeds of Crime.

Over the past month, police had received a Crime Stoppers tip as well as complaints from residents in the Bathurst St. and Finch Ave. W. area regarding unusual activity in their quiet neighbourhood.

Observations by police confirmed the occupants were engaged in what appeared to be drug transactions with large numbers of persons including youths.

During the execution of the search warrant, officers seized a quantity of pre-packaged marihuana, $1,500.00 in cash and a quantity of counterfeit American currency. Seven rifles and a replica pistol have also been seized.

David SPENCER 59 yrs. and Carol SPENCER 46 yrs. are charged with Trafficking in Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Amber SPENCER 20 yrs. has been charged with Possession only.

All three reside at Purebrook Court, Toronto. David Spencer has also been charged with possession of Counterfeit Money and Proceeds of Crime Offences. The investigation is continuing regarding possible firearms related offences. All three will appear at Old City Hall in courtroom 101 on July 10, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. P.C.
