Camrose RCMP respond to home invasion and theft of legal marihuana
Source: The Camrose Booster (CN AB), 11-03-09

On October 31st, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Camrose RCMP were dispatched to a home invasion that occurred on an acreage near the City of Camrose .

Upon arrival at the scene police learned that two unknown males, wearing black ski masks and dark clothing, forcibly entered the residence.

Once inside the two males assaulted and forcibly confined the lone male occupant. The two males then removed a large amount of medicinal legally permitted marihuana plants from the home and departed stealing the victim's vehicle.

Investigators believe the legalized Marihuana Grow Operation, that the home owner had a licence to possess, was specifically targeted and do not deem this incident to be a random act of violence.

The owner of the residence was taken to St. Mary's hospital in Camrose where he was held until morning with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP are investigating at the present time and ask the public to be on the lookout for a white 2002 Dodge Dakota containing a 120-gallon water tank in the back.
