Cyril Street says he was planning on using the eight pounds of marijuana shake police found in his home as gardening mulch, Ontario Court of Justice heard Wednesday.
Street, 57, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while disqualified, two counts of possession of marijuana, possession of the proceeds of crime and breaching his undertaking.
Federal prosecutor Mauro DiCarlo said Street was stopped on Parkhill Rd. Nov. 9, 2007, when police spotted him driving his pickup truck.
Street's licence was suspended because of an impaired driving conviction, court heard, and police found about a gram of marijuana in the truck.
On Feb. 29, 2008, officers arrived at Street's Ennismore home with a search warrant after hearing that there were a lot of drugs at the house.
Street arrived at the house shortly after officers arrived, court heard, and officers found $180 in $20 bills in his hand.
DiCarlo said the eight pounds of marijuana shake, digital scales, a cellphone and homemade crack pipes were found at the home.
Marijuana shake can be used to make hashish.
Street spent about 60 days in pretrial custody before getting bail and Morgan gave him credit for his time.
He sentenced Street to six months of probation and ordered him to provide a DNA sample to police.
