How Do I Become Legal?

To qualify to legally possess, cultivate, store and/or smoke dried marijuana, you must apply for an exemption from Health Canada. Your exemption applies within the geographical boundaries of Canada, and requires you to abide by the smoking laws that apply for cigarettes, which may vary from province to province and municipality to municipality.

HUMAN recommends that exemption holders use common sense. Don't smoke in the presence of children, or near school property. Don't smoke and drive, Police can still charge you with intoxication and you may lose your license! Don't allow others access to your medicine, because technically, sharing a marijuana cigarette with another, even if they are an exemption holder too, is illegal. Do not under any condition, sell your cannabis to anyone. Trafficking your exempted marijuana could land you in jail and you would lose your exemption too, permanently.

For more information about legal medical marijuana in Canada, see Health Canada's website. Although much of the downloadable information at that site has been provided here for you.
